The Flying Scotsman returns to the West Country with a short trip to Par for the day. Starting in Bristol, the ‘Royal Duchy’ ran on time all day with no problems attacking the West Country Banks, despite being completely unassisted. On arrival into Par, the Scotsman became the first locomotive in 2023 to use the Turntable at St. Blazey, which was reportedly ‘not operational in 2023’. It’s good to see Scotsman use the turntable, because it means that the other railtours later in the year will be using it too. In the sunny western sunset, Scotsman made her return to Bristol.
