46100 Royal Scot hauls the English Riviera Express to Kingswear
With 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley finishing up on railtours this summer & returning to Crewe, 46100 Royal Scot picks up the baton leading the penultimate English Riviera Express on a short trip to Kingswear. For those wondering if Sir Nigel Gresley was supposed to do this railtour, the answer is no! The trust had made it clear on their website that the subsequently ill-fated Welsh Marshes Express, was Gresley's last South West railtour for Saphos Trains. 46100 Royal Scot is the 2nd Scot Class locomotive I’ve seen this summer, the other being 46115 Scots Guardsman on a recent trip to par (video link in tags). Meanwhile, regular timetabled trains on the Dartmouth Steam Railway were hauled by resident locomotive No. 75014 Braveheart. There was no shortage of whistles in this film, as well as some turntable action & estuary views.
