35028 Clan Line & 44871 visit Bath with the Belmond British Pullman & Gloucester Express
I thoroughly enjoyed making this video. Fresh out of overhaul, 35028 hauled the Belmond British Pullman to Bath unassisted. She wasn’t the only locomotive to visit Bath on the day, 44871 alighted in Bath with the Bath and Gloucester Steam Express, resulting in a Super Saturday. The boiler for 35028 returned from Leaky Finders just days before its test runs, followed shortly by its tour to Bath, an incredible effort, and hats off to the Merchant Navy Preservation Society. The tours started of different London termini but passed through Westbury, Bath, Keynsham, and Bristol. The time between the tours was spent at Sydney Gardens, a place I’d never been to. 44871 visits Par next weekend with the Royal Duchy, given the CDL situation, it will be interesting to see if it runs unassisted. It was very busy, unsurprisingly, and the weather held off. It was also my birthday.
